 1416 .. Usov in Moravia

Usov was willed to grandson Ladislav z Boskovic in 1513, the families jointly ruled the area until 1577.

Daughters of Boskovic married into the family Liechtensteinsky who then owned the Castle until 1945 and today the Kingdom of Liechtenstein.

Villages near Usov

   The Caves at Mladec contain the archeological remains of one of the earliest prehistoric settlements in Europe.

In the late 1400's, brothers Karel II and Jiri of Usov owned the villages of Medlov,  Rimice, Sobotin and Troublelice .. but neither brother had any sons and the lands were then ruled by the 5 daughters and the relatives, the families Boskovic and Zerotina.

 COA's z Vlasime na Usove

Jan Jankovsti z Vlasime was given Usov in 1416, Jan's oldest son and the his sons used the family's old Coat of Arms ( the Black Eagle).

Jan's next oldest son and his family used the COA's ( the twin Vultures ) of the old families of z Vlasime and z Jenstejna after those family lines ended in the early 1400's.

The Jankovsky male line at Castle Usov died out by the year 1520 but continued to prosper in southern Moravia.

from the history of Castle Usov, the family in the early 1400's was " one of the riches families in all of Moravia engaged in mining". The family ruled Usov and the domain of Litovel and in 1435 were also given the right to govern in southern Moravia

Jan, Mikulas and Benes, the Grandsons of Jan of Usov ruled from a fortress at Jevisovice which was owned by relatives the family z Kunstatu. Benes acquired a Chateau at Valc in 1447

After Jan's death, his brother Mikulas acquired the fortress at Slatina in 1466. Mikulas who died in 1476 had 3 sons - Mikulas, Jindricha and Vaclav - who then ruled.

Mikulas II ruled from Jevisovice until his death in 1480, Jindricha from Slatina and Krhov and Vaclav from Otradice until his death in 1495.

After 1495 the only family remaining in southern Moravia were Jindricha and his sons.

Distant cousin Jiri z Kunstatu a Podibrady was elected King of Bohemia by the Nobility and ruled from 1458 - 1471 before being replaced by a new destiny

Bohemia was a major European power until the mid 1500's when merged into Hapsburg Empire through marriage .. under Austrian rule, most Bohemian nobility was phased out by the late 1600's.

The Lords Jankovsky acquired new land in Southern Moravia and established a new residence with a Chateau at Resice
